I never knew Joan by that name... always Frances when my family lived next door to the Hutchings' in Gidley Way, Horspath, for 20 years between c.1968 -1988. They were great neighbours and became good friends of my parents over the years we lived there. I remember Frances (and Peter) very well. A kindly and good natured couple , both bright, witty and very good company. Frances always seemed to have a smile on her face. They probably didn't know it at the time but their lifestyle influenced my own path of life as I moved into adulthood. Great neighbours and lovely people.x
